There will be a Parent Meeting regarding A Cappella Choir Tour on Wednesday, August 31 at 7:00pm in the Choir Room (Room 102). It is important that all A Cappella Choir parents attend. Students are also welcome.
This auditioned, mixed choir is the largest choral ensemble at Lone Peak. The A Cappella Choir is open to any 11th-or 12th-grade student upon the instructor’s approval through audition. Some of the events the choir is involved in each year are: the Patriot Day Concert, the Fall Concert, the Madrigal Feaste, the Christmas Concert, the Winter Concert, Region Solo and Ensemble Festival, Region Large Choir Festival, the State Large Choir Festival if qualified, the Spring Concert, Commencement Exercises, and a tentative Spring tour. A wide variety of choral literature is studied and performed. The A Cappella Choir is known for its performances of music by master choral composers from throughout the history of the choral art. The primary objectives of the Lone Peak High School A Cappella Choir are to stimulate an interest and appreciation for a wide range of music, and to master vocal and musical techniques. An extremely high level of musical, sight reading, and vocal skill is necessary to enter the A Cappella Choir and to maintain membership in it. In addition, members of the choir are expected to be exemplary students and responsible citizens in our high school community. Be sure you check out the choir calendar on this website. All of our concert dates are listed there, and the days listed will not change. Sometimes the time needs to be altered, but not the day. This space will be updated regularly, so if you miss class, check here so you know what we did and you can catch up. We'll also use this space to spotlight members of our choir throughout the year. And important reminders and announcements will be posted both here and on the choir blog. The Disclosure Document for the A Cappella Choir is accessible through the link below. Be sure you read it thoroughly and completely, and share it with your parents. Remember to turn in the Choir Assignment given out on the first day of class. It is due on August 26, 2016 (Friday).
